Pinot Grigio is an aromatic white wine from Friuli Venezia-Giulia, a region in northern Italy.
Pinot Grigio by Di Leonardo has a bouquet very pleasant with a good array of varietal aromas such as pear Williams, banana, apricot and Acacia flowers. Taste is reminiscent of pear syrup and quince peel. Good acid balance good body and long finish. Mature wines have a bouquet of toasted almonds and straw.
Best to be enjoyed with
Pinot Grigio by Di Leonardo is good partner for starters, baked rice and pasta, egg-based dishes or fish. Try it with vegetable-based risottos or asparagus pasta.
The Winery: Di Lenardo
Di Lenardo is quickly becoming one of the most respected wineries in Friuli, producing benchmark wines that are remarkably affordable. Vigne dai Vieris, Vigne da San Martin, Vigne da les Maris and Tiare D’Albe are the names of the estate’s four vineyard sites totalling roughly fifty hectares, part of a larger farming area of about 150 hectares. Since 1987 Massimo Di Lenardo has made wines exclusively from his own hand harvested vineyards, now planted with densities at between 4,500 and 6,500 plants per hectare with consequently very low yields.
