The Lambrusco is the Italian indigenous grape par excellence, resulting from the harvesting of wild grapes from the Central Apennines. The Grasparossa from Castelvetro is the more elegant and prestigious example, able to give birth to lively red wines, gifted with appeal and originality.
In the glass, this wine is already to be celebrated with its purplish foam that leaves place to a shimmering wine with purple shades and a fine perlage. The perfume is extremely fresh, with scents of berries, cherry and nuances of herbs. In the mouth, this Lambrusco appears dry and crispy, rather full-bodied and salty, with a pleasant comeback of the fruit scents already perceived in the nose.
Best to be enjoyed with
The Lambrusco is a quite unique wine, giving its best with boiled, roasted or grilled meats, particularly with pork. Enjoy it with your liveliest friends, after cooling it down (just a bit).
The Winery: Manicardi
Enzo Manicardi founded the estate on the hills of Castelvetro more than 30 years ago. He had the intuition of choosing one of the most favorable areas for wine production in the Emilia Romagna region: an enchanting landscape, framed by the woods and the vineyards. Over the years, his descendants have taken ownership of the estate without failing to be loyal to its traditions.
