Fiano di Avellino is a charismatic white wine from Campania, a region in Southern Italy. Fiano is an ancient grape of Roman origins.
Fiano di Avellino by Pietracupa has a straw yellow colour with green highlights. In contrast to the Greco, the Fiano offers a more robust and expansive nose with refined fragrances of jasmine, golden delicious apples, candied violets and a strong mineral disgression. A substantial and aristocratic palate with a marked acidity and a vein of citrus that echoes throughout the fine, long and slightly almond finish.
Best to be enjoyed with
The best way to pair Fiano di Avellino by Pietracupa is with seafood pastas such as linguini and clams or whole fish baked in salt. Try it also with a refreshing Caprese salad.
The Winery: Pietracupa
The young and talented Sabino “Sammy Bruno” Loffredo has quickly gained a reputation within Italy and beyond for some of the best Greco and Fiano wines around; Greco by Pietracupa, in particular, is considered by many to be the single best example of this variety. You might say Sabino has certainly lived up to his award of “Up and coming winery of the year 2006” in the Gambero Rosso.
