The three most different imaginable wines. Three stories of small producers who have chosen the path of excellence... A selection made to tell you about the Italy of the great whites, from North to South. Once again, the indigenous vines are protagonist, together with the producers (sometimes well-known, sometimes less), but always wonderfully apt to convey the scents and tastes of the Bel Paese.

Cerasuolo di Vittoria Docg

Indigenous vine from Ragusa

Gulfi

IN PIEDMONT, THEY CALL IT "WHITE BAROLO.” WE ARE REFERRING TO ARNEIS, ONE OF THE FEW WHITES BENEFITING FROM LONG AGEING PERIODS.
Having a straw-yellow colour and a light golden glare, this wine opens to the nose with a clear sensation of acacia flowers, followed by hints of pineapple and banana, alongside refreshing notes and vegetal nuances. The palate shows nice fruit ripeness, followed by a fresh and tasteful herbal touch, evidencing mineral, sapid and slightly astringent tones. A very persistent finish.
Best to be enjoyed with: being so fully-bodied and suadent, this wine cannot be disliked. Hence, the "white Barolo" shall satisfy every guest, especially when paired with a creative cuisine based on fish courses - with a limited selection of extremely fresh ingredients.

The Malvirà Winery
The Malvirà winery began production in the Fifties with the aim of maximizing the vineyards and thus grape-growing potential of the Roero area. Today, the estate is managed by the founder's sons. In spite of a constant growth in production and the increasing exposure to new markets, the winery is still a family business. The primary idea is to make wines transcending the Roero area in the purest and most elegant form.

Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Doc

Grestio

Zannotti

THE VERDICCHIO IS ONE OF THE MOST PROMISING ITALIAN WHITE WINES, AS CONFIRMED BY THIS LIMITED QUANTITY BUT EXTREMELY TREASURABLE PRODUCT MADE BY A SMALL FAMILY-RUN WINERY.
The bouquet is light but wide. With a bright straw-yellow colour and reflections of lime green, this wine is more persistent than intense and reveals deep sensations of yellow fruit, evident herbal notes and slight mineral nuances that will render it a champion of longevity. In the mouth, it is rich and concentrated, with a weighted acidity and a heavy, sapid note conferred by the originating land. The finish is long and persistent.
Best to be enjoyed with: it is a wine with a strong personality, as should be the people surrounding you. To be tried with tasty fish courses or with semi-seasoned cheeses: success is guaranteed!

The Zannotti Winery
The winery is situated on a hill in San Paolo di Jesi, one of the most favourable locations to produce the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC: the soil is clayish and the climate is cool, characterised by a wide temperature range between day and night, paramount for the production of grapes with high aromaticity. The winery has received important wine awards in recent years.

Gulfi

FROM AN OUTSTANDING ESTATE, A WINE THAT LEAVES YOU SPEECHLESS. ORIGINATED FROM AN INDIGENOUS VINE ON THE ETNA VULCAN, THE CARRICANTE, MINGLED WITH AN EXTREMELY RARE VINE, THE ALBANELLO.
The "Southern Riesling". A medley of sensations emerges out of a glass of this straw-yellow nectar: from dried salt to capers, with evident notes of lime, white melon, dried mango and a finish with nuances of pearl barley and shades of honey. In the mouth, this wine amazes for being so enthralling and bold, well-balanced between acidity and sapidity, with a pronounced mineral feature and an aftertaste rich of iodized notes.
Best to be enjoyed with: definitely, a wine for experts. Accordingly, it should be reserved only for important occasions, particularly with shellfish recipes, for an unforgettable evening.

The Gulfi Winery
In 1995, Vito Catania inherited part of the family's land from his father, who had bought it with his entire savings made in France as a migrant. This was the beginning of Gulfi, a pioneering winery in Sicily re-discovering the Pachino's prestigious crus. The estate is considered a benchmark for the production of Nero D'Avola. Gulfi's best-known wines are farmed organically.
