Barolo is the King of Italian Winemaking! It is a red wine produced in Piedmont, a region in Northern Italy, characterized by an excellent fruit clarity. Ageing: four years in Slavonia oak casks (6000Lt) with a further refining in bottle for 6 months.
Barolo by Borgogno has garnet hue. The nose revealing a youthful and tightly coiled but nevertheless inviting wine. Dark cool fruits with licorice, bitter herbs and spice. Will defineitly sit happily in the cellar for a few years, but offers plenty of pleasure to the drinker now.
Best to be enjoyed with
Barolo by Borgogno is perfect with truffle and steak; would also work well with game birds. Brasied meat pastas and risottos.
The Winery: Borgogno
Borgogno is a historic estate, situated right in the heart of the Barolo region, that started production in 1761. Today the estate is owned by the Farinetti family, founders of Eataly, the world's biggest marketplace for High Quality Food and Drinks. Following a code of absolute environmental ethic, Borgogno treats its grapes in the very best methods without using chemical fertilizers.
