The wine takes its name from the tree at the border of the Gugliaie vineyard, where some of the best Sangiovese in the property grows. Filippo selects the grapes from eight rows of biodynamic vines, hoping to bottle his personal vision of viticulture.

    FOOD PARING

With Sangiovese Fico Le Corti Organic by Principe Corsini made this well, you can go quite broad with the pairing. Roasted white and red meats will work great, but for something really perfect, go with grilled steaks with a bit of fat on them. Rump would be a good cut here.

    TASTING NOTES

    >TASTING<

    TUSCANY

Sangiovese Fico Le Corti Organic by Principe Corsini shows of ruby red with vibrant purple reflections round the rim. The nose is elegant and supple, with floral rose petal and lavender notes, and spicy liquorice. Over-riding all of this is the red fruit cherry, redcurrant, and pomegranate notes. Those fruits persist on the mouth, but more spice and herb are revealed in the form of black pepper, cardamom, and dried mint. The balance on the finish between the smooth tannin and refreshing fruity acidity leads to a perfect and long lasting finish.

    THE WINERY

    PRINCIPE CORSINI
    THE WINERY

    The Winery: Principe Corsini
In an archetypal “Chiantishire” countryside rises a Renaissance villa that is the home of the Principe Duccio Corsini, a cheroot-chewing connoisseur of Chianti and also a gardening expert. In contrast to the medieval origins of his family home, his world famous winemaker Carlo Ferrini helps him craft very modern wines. They display richness, depth of colour and fruit and noteworthy complexity.
