Puglia is an exciting wine region to keep an eye on. Its fertile soils, diversity of terroirs and amazing climate are ideal for growing grapes. Over the past decades, it has gone through major changes in the quality of the wines thanks to caring producers and new regulations. There are now more than 30 DOPs proposing expressive nectars, mostly fruit-forward reds from regional varietals like rich-in-alcohol and aromatic Primitivo. Some Apulian grapes like Negroamaro make some of the best rosés in Italy as well and Bombino Bianco or Greco Bianco dry and crisp white blends.
