Brio is a wine made predominantly from Sangiovese grapes from estate vineyards on the gentle sloping hills of Scansano, which express the freshness of this grape variety. The combination of altitude, south-westerly exposure and rich volcanic soils in Scansano create one of Italy’s most unique microclimates.  The area, notable for its unspoiled nature and rolling hills, lies approximately 150 metres above sea level and only 20 kilometres from the Tyrrhenian Sea. The wine is aged for several months in large oak casks and bottled approximately six months before release.

    FOOD PARING

Castello Romitorio “Brio” Toscana Rosso 2019 by Castello Romitorio will pair brilliantly with Tuscan food, including a rich pasta al ragù with either boar, beef, or lamb meat.  You can also enjoy this wine with rich mushroom dishes, with the natural acidity of the Sangiovese coping well with sauces or cream.

    TASTING NOTES

    >TASTING<

    TUSCANY

Castello Romitorio “Brio” Toscana Rosso 2019 by Castello Romitorio has a dense ruby red in colour.  Fragrant floral aromas, notes of red berries and cherries, and a layer of aromatic herbs.  The refined balance of flavours centres on savouriness and soft tannins.  This is a medium bodied wine with a long and fruity finish.

    THE WINERY

    CASTELLO ROMITORIO
    THE WINERY

    The Winery: Castello Romitorio
Located in the northwest of Montalcino, the Romitorio vineyards surround the Castle on a hill that, coming down from Monte Amiato towards Siena, runs parallel with the Montalcino slopes. The wines produced here are fresh and fruity, incredibly fragrant, moderately alcoholic and of unequalled refinement, with a salty note and a dynamic, vivacious character.
