Grape: Indigenous Grape - Kerner
Alcohol Content: 13.5%
Unit Quantity: 750 ml
Kerner is an intense and aromatic white wine produced in Trentino Alto-Adige, a mountainous region of Northern Italy, close to the border with Austria. It originates from Kerner, an indigenous grape bred by August Herold in the late twenties of the 20th century by crossing Schiava grossa and Riesling.
Kerner by Abbazia di Novacella has a yellow color. With green nuances, apple and peach fruit on the nose and a hint of mango, its opulence is cut by crisp acidity.
Best to be enjoyed with
Kerner by Abbazia di Novacella is outstanding with cold summer pasta salads, but it can also hold up to pork, roast chicken or swordfish.
The Winery: Abbazia di Novacella
Abbazia di Novacella is a monastery in the northern region of Trentino Alto Adige. The mineral-rich soils, the elevation and the cool climate explain the intense aromas and flavors as well as the fruity, mouth-watering acidity found in the wines produced there.
