Carema Classico is a rare red wine from Piemonte, a region in Northern Italy. Only two wineries make it and production is limited (about 65,000 bottles). The vines growth on spectacular terraced vineyards at the foot of the Alps.
Carema Classico by Produttori del Carema has ruby colour of medium intensity with garnet red tints. Nuances of cinnamon and nutmeg as well as of fruit preserved in alcohol. Smooth flavour, softly tannic, well balanced acidity due to its refining process in wooden casks. It leaves an intense aftertaste together with spicy nuances.
Best to be enjoyed with
The best way to pair Carema Classico by Produttori del Carema is with dishes as agnolotti (sort of ravioli with forcemeat), risotto, polenta, black grouse or pheasant, grilled meat, salami and slightly mature cheese.
The Winery: Produttori del Carema
Produttori del Carema, a social cooperative well known in Italy for the high quality of its wines, was originally founded in 1960 by less than a dozen producers. Years of success and growth have seen the number of members rise to eighty-one. Carema is the wine the cooperative is known for, produced from the Nebbiolo grape just like Barbaresco and Barolo. The tradition and distinguished characteristics of Carema wines is such that Carema was named one of Italy’s first DOC wines in 1967.
