Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico is one the most intriguing Italian red wine and it is produced in Veneto, a region in northern Italy. Amarone is a 'straw wine' made from grapes that have been dried to concentrate their juice. Minimum 3 years in Slovenian oak casks (60%) and in barriques (40%), 8 months in bottle for the final ageing process.
Amarone della Valpolicella by Le Salette is a very ripe, raisiny, full-bodied wine. On the palate Amarone wines often have medium-plus to high acidity balanced with high alcohol and flavors of black cherry, brown sugar and chocolate.
Best to be enjoyed with
The best way to pair Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico by Le Salette is with game, strong cheeses, roasted red meats. Try it on its own: you will not forget him. It needs to be opened at least 2 hours before drinking. Pour the nectar into a crystal decanter.
The Winery: Le Salette
Le Salette is well-established as one of the leading producers in Valpolicella located in the very high quality sub-area of Fumane. Winemaker and proprietor Franco Scamperle is adamant that each wine must be allowed to express the character of the soil from where the grapes are grown.
